Arista Networks has expanded its line of switches, adding eight new models, including an 800 Gbps device
The new switches allow for a more flexible network configuration to meet the specific needs of individual organizations. Arista has introduced a new 32-port 800 Gbps switch in the Hi-End class, which was included in the 7060X5 line. It supports a 25.6Tb switch fabric, as well as OSFP or QSFP optical modules. The new switch fabric has enabled three systems in the 7060X5 series with 25.6Tbps of throughput for high-performance enterprise environments or hyper-scale data centers:
• 1 RU model for 128 ports with 200G throughput;
• 2 RU model for 64 ports with 400G throughput;
• new 32-port 1 RU switch with 800G throughput.
Arista has also announced five new 7050X4 Series Leaf switches for data centers based on an 8Tbps switch fabric. The new devices offer multiple configurations and support 10G, 25G, 50G or 100G small form factor (SFP) optical modules, which provide backward compatibility with the installed base of 10G and 25G hosts based on NRZ modulation. The new products support 100G and 200G hosts based on 50G PAM4 and retain the same rack-level density as the 48-port devices. These systems also offer customers Uplink ports to connect to the backbone at speeds ranging from 100G to 400G.
The 7050X4 switches also support OSFP or QSFP optical modules, so it's easy to upgrade to a faster network infrastructure while preserving your existing investment.
The 7050X4 and 7060X5 platforms are based on Broadcom Trident4 and Tomahawk4 chipsets and will be available in Q1 2023.
