H3C has introduced two new Intel Xeon 6 processor-based servers – UniServer R4900 G7 and R4700 G7, which provide high performance and computing power for deploying AI-based solutions
H3C's flagship UniServer R4900 G7 and the density-optimized R4700 G7 server help enterprises accelerate digital transformation with more diverse, efficient and intelligent computing power.
The new servers are powered by Intel Xeon 6 processor, designed for demanding cloud environments. Intel Xeon 6 uses the latest I/O and memory technologies, and supports up to 8 channels of DDR5 memory and 64 channels of CXL 2.0, delivering comprehensive improvements in efficiency, security and performance. Compared to the previous generation of processors, the performance per watt has increased by 2.4 times, and the rack density has increased by 2.5 times. Based on a common hardware platform and a common software stack, Intel Xeon 6 provides the flexibility to meet different customer needs for energy efficiency and performance, simplify development, deployment and management, and enable significant energy savings.
Both new products are equipped with two Intel Xeon 6 processors with a maximum of 288 cores in a 1U form factor. The performance of the servers has increased by 125% compared to the previous generation models and has computing power comparable to solutions in a 2U form factor.
The flagship H3C UniServer R4900 G7 server system balances computing performance, expansion capabilities and reliability. This makes it widely applicable to general computing scenarios, including cloud computing, virtualization, distributed storage and enterprise resource planning, and suitable for typical applications in various industries. The R4900 G7's performance per watt is 40% higher than the previous generation, delivering greater computing power under the same power consumption. With 32 DDR5 6400 MT/s memory, the memory speed is increased by 14%. The system has 40 E3.S/E1.S/U.2 or 45 SATA/SAS drive slots to expand data analysis capabilities and 21 PCIe5.0 slots to meet customers’ extreme resource needs. Supporting PCIe/dedicated mezzanine slots/OCP3.0, the system provides flexible expansion according to business needs.
H3C UniServer R4700 G7 is optimized for high-density computing, delivering high performance per unit of space to meet stringent performance, energy efficiency and density requirements for various workloads, and can be widely used in general computing scenarios such as database, virtualization and VDI. The system's overall computing performance is 20% higher than the previous generation models. The server is equipped with four single-width GPUs, delivering high computing power under extreme environments. R4700 G7 has 32 E1.S slots or 12 SATA/SAS/U.2 drive slots, supporting up to 96TB of storage capacity. Support for three types of slots (standard PCIe slots, dedicated mezzanine slots, OCP3.0 slots) provides flexible business deployment. Six PCIe5.0 slots are located at the rear of the server, and one PCIe 4.0 slot is located at the front.
Both new models have a life-cycle fault diagnostic system with an accuracy of up to 96%. The servers support intelligent memory repair technology, which reduces unexpected downtime by 40%. The R4900 G7 and R4700 G7 feature the ability to store password certificates and transmit confidential information securely.
