Dell Technologies introduced an updated line of Dell Pro commercial laptops
The new Dell Pro line is a combination of advanced technology, reliability, and modern design that is tailored to maximum productivity. It replaces the Dell Latitude series of commercial laptops. The line is divided into three tiers to meet the needs of different types of users: ultra-thin and light Dell Pro Premium models with a diagonal of 13 and 14 inches; the highly scalable and elegant Dell Pro Plus laptops and 2-in-1 devices with a diagonal of 13, 14 and 16 inches; and Dell Pro laptops with an optimal price/quality ratio 14 and 16 inches.
The first new products will be the Dell Pro Plus, which replaces the Latitude 5000 series, and the Dell Pro Premium, which replaces the Latitude 9000 and Latitude 7000 Ultralight. All models are equipped with the latest Intel Core Ultra Lunar Lake processors with support for additional Copilot+ AI features.
The Dell Pro 13 Premium and Dell Pro 14 Premium models are equipped with Intel Core Ultra Lunar Lake U-series processors (17-17.5 W TDP) with support for Copilot+ and vPro. RAM is directly embedded into the system-on-chip, which allows for the optimization of power consumption and the lowering of its thermals.
The laptops are equipped with innovative Tandem OLED matrices, which provide a brighter image compared to standard OLED displays. Cirrus Logic Smart Amp audio amplifiers provide more powerful and clear sound. It is worth noting that these models are the quietest Dell laptops - the noise level during operation is less than 1 Sone. Dell Pro Premium is also equipped with 8MP HDR + IR cameras for high-quality images.
Dell Pro Premium's innovative design has been honored with a CES Innovation Award 2025. The models come in a stylish new Magnetite color and a durable chassis with thicker magnesium for a 76% stiffer A-cover. The new models feature longer battery life (up to 60 Whr) and improved cooling. Modular components, including USB-C ports, ensure easier repairs.
The Dell Pro Plus series is available in 14-inch and 16-inch models, with 13-inch devices coming later. The Dell Pro Plus is powered by Intel Core Ultra Lunar Lake V-series processors with 24W of power compared to 17-17.5W in the previous generation and 40-48 TOPs of performance. Accelerated LPDDR5 8533 MT/s memory with 16GB or 32GB is integrated into the processor. The devices are available with fully encrypted Class 40 SSDs with a capacity of 1TB and 2TB.
The laptops have wider ComfortView Plus LCD with a resolution of 2560x1600, with eye protection from blue light radiation and brightness of 300nit vs. 250nit in the previous generation. The contrast ratio of the displays has also been increased – 800:1–1200:1 vs. 600:1–1000:1. The refresh rate is 90Hz for the 14-inch models and 120Hz for the 16-inch models.
The case of the new products is made of stamped aluminum, 0.8 mm thick, in Platinum Silver color and has a screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10. The 14-inch model is available in a clamshell and 2-in-1 version. The laptops also received larger touchpads - 18-43% larger compared to the previous series, depending on the model.
Dell Pro Plus connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support. High-quality conference calls are achieved through improved TNR5 noise reduction for all FHD cameras. The new devices also feature a 5MP camera that supports User Presence Detection.
The models also received new, more capacious 45 and 55 Whr batteries (the previous generation used 42 and 54 Wh) with increased battery life and 80% reduced cobalt use. If necessary, users will be able to replace the batteries themselves. In addition to replaceable batteries, it is also worth noting the introduction of USB-C compression ports, modular I/O boards attached to the motherboard, and a dust mesh for the CPU fan. This significantly simplifies laptop repairs and eliminates the need to replace the entire motherboard.
At the moment, only configurations based on Intel Lunar Lake (LNL) processors are available. The remaining processors and the full updated portfolio are expected by the end of March.
