The high performance of the R4900 G6 server once again demonstrated that H3C is capable of providing efficient computing support for data centers
Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC) recently released the results of its latest CPU performance benchmarks (as of February 2023). The H3C UniServer R4900 G6 server scored 174, which the highest in the SPEC CPU 2017 Floating Point, setting a new world record in this test. The SPEC CPU 2017 is a set of standard CPU intensive tests, focusing on evaluating server computing performance.
The server also took first place in the SPECpower_ssj2008 benchmark test with a score of 16,881, setting a world record. SPECpower_ssj2008 is a benchmark test that comprehensively and objectively reflects the server performance and power consumption ratio. In addition, the results of these tests are accepted by many certification agencies, such as Energy Star and Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS), to determine the energy efficiency class of various types of servers.
The R4900 G6 is equipped with two 4th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors and uses 8-channel 4800 MT/s DDR5 memory technology, which provides up to 12TB of memory expansion and a 50% bandwidth increase. The server provides excellent scalability with local storage support of up to 14 standard PCIe slots and up to 41 drive slots. In addition, the H3C intelligent system provides data center server lifecycle management and flexible configuration and deployment for a dedicated O&M environment.
As the flagship of general computing servers, R4900 G6 can be widely used in cloud computing, virtualization, distributed storage and enterprise resource planning. It has a balanced computing performance, storage capacity, power saving, scalability and reliability. 96% energy efficiency delivers greater value to users, helping to create next-generation efficient, green, and intelligent data centers for the Internet, carriers, enterprises, and governments.
