Next Level of Data Resiliency: Veeam and Palo Alto Networks Integration

News

2024-12-11

Veeam Software announced a new integration with Palo Alto Networks to simplify security operations and improve data resiliency

New Veeam applications integrated with the Palo Alto Networks Cortex platform help organizations detect and respond to cyber-attacks faster, ensuring the resiliency of business-critical backup data. This integration addresses the need for organizations to take a comprehensive approach to protecting their backup data and proactively respond to cyber threats using the capabilities offered by Veeam and Palo Alto Networks Cortex XSIAM and Cortex XSOAR applications. This integration makes Veeam the first Palo Alto Networks partner to independently design and develop the data collector, dashboards and reports for Cortex XSIAM.

Veeam and Palo Alto Networks have combined technologies to centralize, scale, and automate data monitoring and incident response. By integrating Palo Alto Networks’ AI-powered security operations center (SOC) platform with Veeam’s industry-leading recovery capabilities, organizations can detect and respond to cyber-attacks faster, ensuring the resiliency of business-critical data.

The integration introduces two new applications — Veeam solutions integrated with Cortex XSIAM and Cortex XSOAR — that utilize bidirectional API connection to monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents affecting business-critical and backup data. The Veeam application integrated with Cortex XSIAM brings data from Veeam Backup & Replication and VeeamONE environments to Cortex XSIAM, providing a centralized view of backup security data and activities. Veeam App integrated with Cortex XSOAR enables regular API requests to Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam ONE, monitoring for significant security events or alerts. Both applications are included free of charge for Veeam Data Platform Advanced and Premium customers.

Key customer benefits of Veeam and Palo Alto Networks integration include:
  • • A comprehensive view of security operations across the entire environment, including the Veeam environment, to stop threats and improve situational awareness.
  • • Simplifying the setup and installation of Veeam applications with pre-configured monitoring and security dashboards to help ensure seamless and efficient connectivity.
  • • Acceleration of response to potential security threats across Veeam environments with AI-powered automation in real time.
  • • Monitoring enterprise-scale environments without overwhelming the security team with burdensome alerts and manual processes.
  • • Managing incidents effectively and efficiently while meeting RTOs, RPOs, and industry compliance requirements with automated ransomware recovery.
