APC by Schneider Electric announces an update to the NetShelter SX cabinet lineup
The new NetShelter SX Gen2 cabinets replace the first-generation cabinet lineup and help make daily operations more efficient and predictable. NetShelter SX Gen2 cabinets provide ample space for equipment, organization, and maintenance and are loaded with features that make installation faster, easier, and more accurate. The cabinets are easy to configure and customize, allowing them to be used over a long period of time and in a variety of applications. All-steel construction increases durability and extends service life.
The second generation of NetShelter SX offers more workspace in a 42-48U form factor, depending on the model, and features a higher static load capacity of 1814 kg. This provides more computing power per square foot, which in turn helps reduce the physical footprint of the data center and reduce resource consumption.
Compared to the previous generation of NetShelter SX enclosures, the new models have an increased door perforation rate from 69% to 80%, and the door opening angle has been increased from 130° to 270°. The front door of the enclosures is equipped with a three-point lock. It is also worth noting that the NetShelter SX Gen2 line is designed for reuse with 97% recyclability and a 3.3% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. All models have a 5-year warranty.
In addition, NetShelter SX Gen2 can be enhanced with a number of hardware and software options for more efficient operation. For example, the NetBotz environmental monitoring system provides increased environmental and physical security. NetShelter intelligent rack PDUs allow you to meter and manage power. The Smart-UPS Modular Ultra provides high-density online power protection with scalable runtime supported by lithium-ion batteries. The EcoStruxure IT software platform provides cloud-based monitoring and control.
