APC by Schneider Electric introduced new Galaxy VXL UPS models for large data centers and critical infrastructure of cloud and provider services
Galaxy VXL is a high-efficiency, compact, modular, three-phase, hot-swappable 500-1250 kW uninterruptible power supply. With its compact design, high-density technology and fault-tolerant architecture, Galaxy VXL maximizes availability, operating efficiency and protection of critical loads while minimizing the total cost of ownership. The modular design of the new UPS provides scalability and redundancy at the level of internal power modules. The model has a minimum starting capacity of 500 kW (4 modules) and can be scaled up to 1250 kW (10 modules). The scaling step (power module capacity) is 125 kW. Live Swap technology allows the customer to add or replace power modules in “hot” mode without the need for additional technical personnel. The modular design also provides internal N+1 redundancy, which increases the availability of the system by 10 times without additional dimensions.
The manufacturer's patented technologies guarantee Galaxy VXL efficiency of up to 99% in eConversion mode, which provides Class 1 power protection and halves the UPS's carbon footprint, and up to 97.5% in double conversion mode. Scalability reduces both capital investment and total cost of ownership. The Galaxy VXL is compatible with lithium-ion or classic VRLA batteries, providing flexible and predictable runtime for critical loads.
