ESET has updated its line of business products to improve the protection of corporate networks of any size from cyber threats
Major updates include changes to the centralized management console and workstation protection products for Windows, macOS, and Android, as well as improvements to ESET Enterprise Inspector's EDR solution, which changed its name to ESET Inspect and is now available in the cloud. Let's look at these updates in more detail.
ESET Enterprise Inspector's powerful EDR tool, starting with version 1.7, will be called ESET Inspect. The product has significantly expanded its functionality, in particular, in addition to Windows and macOS, support for the Linux platform has been implemented together with other benefits. In addition, the updated product is now available in the cloud.
ESET Inspect Cloud is a state-of-the-art cloud tool that, in combination with the ESET PROTECT platform, is evolving into XDR solutions for Extended Detection and Response. This enhances corporate security and enhances IT risk management through improved threat detection, timely response to cyber incidents, and a detailed network overview. ESET Inspect Cloud detects malicious code after executing it, and ESET PROTECT gives the user full visibility to respond to the detected threat.
The ESET PROTECT platform itself has also been improved to improve cybersecurity risk management in the enterprise environment. The platform's new version implements an automatic update mechanism that ensures all ESET workstation protection agent agents and other tools are updated to the latest versions. In addition, the in-depth integration of ESET Inspect Cloud and the ESET PROTECT platform ensures the seamless operation of dashboards and simplified deployment.
It is worth noting that ESET PROTECT has implemented an information panel for ESET LiveGuard Advanced - a new generation cloud sandbox (formerly known as ESET Dynamic Threat Defense) which analyzes suspicious files sent by workstations for new or known threats.
Workstation protection tools have also been updated. For example, ESET Endpoint Security for Windows has a new module for protection against attacks by selecting passwords. Combining cloud reputation data with password-guessing systems and attacker bait systems, the module blocks repeated intrusion attempts. ESET PROTECT Cloud's new web control feature allows administrators to track employee access to sites on Android mobile devices. Using built-in categories and special rules, you can blacklist and whitelist URLs or warn about links to malicious sites.
MacOS users were introduced to a new version of ESET Endpoint Antivirus, built using a microservice architecture that replaces the previous monolithic architecture. As a result, ESET Endpoint Antivirus has an improved multi-threaded design for faster scanning and improved security isolation, as components can run with unprivileged user rights. In addition, the new version is compatible with Apple M1 devices via the Rosetta 2 binary translator.
Also, given the growing popularity of ARM64-based hardware, which is increasingly used in high-resolution displays, 3D games, and voice recognition, ESET Endpoint Security and ESET Endpoint Antivirus now have ARM64 versions.
