Arista Networks manufactures specialized fault-tolerant switching equipment optimized for large data transfers. Arista switches have ultra-low latency - the Arista 7150S latency is only 350 ns.
The company positions its switches for use in data centers, virtual and cloud environments to organize high-speed access to servers, as well as at the level of aggregation and service core broadband providers. Arista Networks offers switches with unique port density: the 7100 series offers up to 48 10G ports in a 1U chassis, and the 7500 series offers up to 384 10Gbps ports in a 11U chassis without "oversubscription". The 10 Gb/s electrical and optical Ethernet ports are backwards compatible with standard Gigabit Ethernet ports to save your investment.
All switches run the proprietary Extensible Operating System (EOS). EOS is based on the Linux platform, which provides the following features:
system update without stopping the switch; process security; access to Linux utilities directly on the switch: screen, wireshark, fping, etc.; the ability to run virtual machines directly on the switch. Arista solutions are widely recognized in the data center market (especially in the US and Europe) as well as in the financial and multimedia markets. They are used by companies such as Google, eBay, Credit Suize, Deutsche Telecom and others.
